Planetree Partners is a private investment firm focused on acquiring small to medium sized businesses with exceptional growth and impact potential. At Planetree, we believe in a holistic approach to valuation. We are bringing a green lens to the small business investing landscape to identify and unlock the value of externalities as they rapidly become reality.

Our founder, Jonathan Rapaport, began his career at Goldman Sachs where he joined the Global Commodities Principal Investments team. Jon’s first investment was a coal mine in Colombia for which he managed the financials and operational strategy. While Jon’s interest in energy markets continued, his focus would shift dramatically by 2019 when he collaborated with Union Square Ventures on their climate tech investment thesis.

Jon has been on both sides of the table as an investor and entrepreneur having worked as CFO for a healthcare tech company and Platform Manager for a global home cleaning business.
